The backflush frequency is controlled by the rate air is inputted into an internal charge chamber. Backflush air is typically supplied by a small compressor. Actual backflush events occur in a matter of seconds and do not interrupt input flow to the unit. <\/p>\n<p>After backflushing, captured solids settle to the bottom of the unit forming a concentrated sludge.
